Annual Reporting Categories for an Estonian Company

When preparing the annual report, the company must choose a reporting form category based on its indicators. If the company wishes to prepare a more comprehensive annual report, a higher category of reporting forms may be selected.

Category Conditions:

Micro Undertaking – A private limited company that meets all the following criteria on the balance sheet date of the accounting year:

  • Sales revenue during the accounting year is up to €50,000.

  • Total assets do not exceed €175,000.

  • Liabilities are less than or equal to the owners’ equity.

  • There is one shareholder who is also a member of the management board.

Small Undertaking – A company registered in Estonia that is not classified as a micro undertaking, and meets at least one of the following criteria on the balance sheet date of the accounting year:

  • Sales revenue up to €8,000,000.

  • Total assets up to €4,000,000.

  • An average of 50 employees during the accounting year.

Medium-sized Undertaking – A company registered in Estonia that is neither a micro nor a small undertaking, and meets at least one of the following criteria on the balance sheet date of the accounting year:

  • Sales revenue up to €40,000,000.

  • Total assets up to €20,000,000.

  • An average of 250 employees during the accounting year.

Large Undertaking – A company registered in Estonia that exceeds at least two of the following criteria on the balance sheet date of the accounting year:

  • Sales revenue over €40,000,000.

  • Total assets over €20,000,000.

  • An average of 250 employees during the accounting year.
